About LocalAIModelOnMac
LocalAIModelOnMac is a plain-English guide to running AI models on your own Mac: which Mac to buy, which open-weight model to run, and what the jargon means.
Who it’s for
Curious non-experts who want private, offline AI without a subscription, and builders who want a fast, cheap local setup for coding and agents.
How we work
- We check model sizes against official model cards and Mac specs against Apple’s published tech specs.
- Memory and speed figures are estimates. When we’re not sure, we give a range and say so.
- We don’t list live prices yet. Always check the current price with the seller.
- The site is updated regularly as new Macs and models are released.
How the site makes money
In the future, some retailer links may become affiliate links, and we may run a deal-alert newsletter and clearly labelled sponsorships. None of that changes our recommendations.
Disclaimer
LocalAIModelOnMac is independent and not affiliated with Apple Inc. or any model maker. Nothing here is financial or purchasing advice; prices and specs change.
